| Bishop Palomino addresses Mt. Sinai’s congregation, while the pastor looks on |
We were told that Mt. Sinai's meetings started at 10AM, so
Bishop Palomino and Brother Egg walked in the doors at right on time. As we soon found out, that was the time they
start arriving, and by 10:30, the meeting was in session.
Brother Egg’s neighbor, Joseph Prempeh had invited him and
the ward’s Sister missionaries to attend during a teaching discussion at Joseph's
home. Just the week before, Pleasant Hill Ward had a 5th Sunday
combined meeting 3rd hour to help the ward understand and focus on
their Ward Mission Plan. Among the 10 goals for the Ward was item number 2; “Bishopric to fellowship with local clergy
and engage in service opportunities”. Bishop Palomino thought it a good
idea to have the whole bishopric attend Mt Sinai's service that morning.
Brother Scherer, 2nd counselor, arrived a little after the service
started.
The service lasted until after 12:30, and Bishop Palomino
had to text his Priesthood Executive Committee (PEC) that the Bishopric was not
going to make it back to the building in time for the PEC meeting. We were glad
we stayed through the service as we were warmly embraced by dozens of the
congregation and thanked for attending.
Joseph Prempeh, who gave the lion’s share of the sermon, was in attendance
at 2PM for Pleasant Hill’s sacrament meeting.
After sacrament (Fast and Testimony) meeting was over,
Bishop Palomino spent the entire 2nd hour on a chapel tour with
Joseph. The two leaders made a warm commitment to engage in collective service
efforts in the community.
Hearts were knit together in the worship of our Savior as
the Mt Sinai congregation placed our bishopric at front and center for their
remarkable services. Seeds of fellowship have been planted. There is at least one more congregation in
Kissimmee that knows a little more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints. As a matter of fact, it might be safe to say that they have “Met the Mormons”.

I LOVE this Soooo Much!! Great Job PH!!
